# Sell virtual phone numbers (DIDs)

> Point your numbers to sip01.telecomsxchange.com (UDP 5060) or smpp01.telecomsxchange.com (TCP 2776). Then go to DIDs → My DIDs → Sell New DID, enter the number, prices and features, and click Publish DID. Update listed numbers in bulk with Upload CSV File.

## How calls to your numbers reach buyers

1. **Your switch**: Sends DID traffic; SMS via smpp01, TCP 2776
2. **TelecomsXchange** (via `sip01.telecomsxchange.com:5060`): Checks your authentication rule, bills the buyer
3. **Buyer** (via purchased number): Receives the call or SMS on the number
4. **Your balance** (via your share): Setup, recurring and per-use earnings

Selling numbers works like selling routes. You list numbers with prices, buyers purchase them in the DIDs Marketplace, and TelecomsXchange bills them and pays you.

## Before you start

Calls and messages to your numbers must reach TelecomsXchange. The same details are shown at the top of **DIDs → My DIDs**:

- **Voice:** point your SIP DIDs to `sip01.telecomsxchange.com`, UDP port `5060`.
- **SMS:** point your SMPP DIDs to `smpp01.telecomsxchange.com`, TCP port `2776`, login `did`, password `did`. To use your own SMPP login and password instead, click **custom SMPP DID login/password** on the **Authentication Rules** page; see [Sell SMS routes](https://help.telecomsxchange.com/sellers/sell-sms-routes/).

## How do I let my switch send calls to my DIDs?

1. Go to **DIDs → My DIDs** and click **Authentication Rules**.
2. Click **Add New DID Authentication**.
3. Enter the **Remote IP Address** your calls come from, IPv4 or IPv6 (leave it blank for any IP).
4. If you authenticate with a login, enter **VoIP Login** and **VoIP Password**.
5. Click **Add Authentication**.

You'll see "The DID Authentication has been successfully added." The rule appears under **Authentication Rules** on the **Incoming DIDs Authentication** page, with **ANY** as the IP when you left it blank, and **Edit** and **Delete** actions (**Delete** asks you to confirm).

## How do I list a number?

1. Go to **DIDs → My DIDs** and click **Sell New DID**.
2. Fill in the **Sell Single DID** form (see the table below). Prices are in USD.
3. Under **Features Supported**, tick at least one of **Voice**, **SMS**, **Fax** or **Video**.
4. Click **Publish DID**.

![The Sell Single DID form with number details, prices and supported features](https://help.telecomsxchange.com/assets/screenshots/seller-add-did.jpg)

You'll see "The DID has been successfully added." The number appears in **My DIDs** with status **Idle** (for sale), unless you chose **Blocked**.

| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| **Phone Number (E.164)** | Digits only, 4 to 15 digits, for example `12125551234`. |
| **Publicity** | **Public**, or **Anonymous** to hide your name. Anonymous has a monthly fee, charged from your balance when you publish and then every month; an unpaid anonymous number disappears from the market. |
| **DID Type** | **Grey**, **National**, **Toll Free** or **Mobile**. |
| **Local Requirements** | **Any** or **Local Only**. |
| **Status** | **Idle** (for sale) or **Blocked**. |
| **Documents Verification Required** | Tick for numbers that need the buyer's documents (KYC). |
| **Price per Minute** / **SMS Price** | What the buyer pays per minute of incoming calls and per incoming SMS. |
| **Billing Interval (seconds)** | 1 to 300. |
| **Recurring Fee** + **Billing Cycle** | Fee charged every **Monthly**, **Quarterly** or **Annual** cycle. |
| **Setup Fee** | One-time fee. |
| **Capacity** | Maximum simultaneous calls. |
| **Notes for Buyers** | Extra information shown to buyers. |

Buyers see your prices plus the TelecomsXchange commission for your account. They pay the setup fee and the first recurring fee up front. Your share arrives on your balance and shows in **Money → Payout History** as "Setup fee for DID [number]", "[cycle] Fee for DID [number]" and, on each renewal, "[fee] earning for DID [number]".

## How do I manage my numbers?

**DIDs → My DIDs** lists your numbers with country, description, **Publicity** (an anonymous number also shows **OK** or **Unbilled**), prices, fees, **Status** and **Billed To**. Filter by **Prefix**, **Country**, **Description** or **Status** (**Purchased**, **Idle**, **Blocked**), choose **Results Per Page** and click **Search DIDs**; **Clear filters** resets them. A purchased number shows "by [buyer]" with a link to the buyer's profile. **Download N DIDs** saves the current search, and **Export all** downloads all your numbers as a CSV file.

![The My DIDs page with delivery details, filters and the DID list](https://help.telecomsxchange.com/assets/screenshots/seller-dids.jpg)

To change a number:

1. In the number's actions menu, click **Edit DID**.
2. Change the prices, features or notes. On a purchased number the **Phone Number** field is locked; an anonymous number shows "Anonymous billed to: [date] (use blocked status to stop billing)".
3. Click **Save Changes** (**Back to DIDs** returns without saving).

You'll see "DID entry has been updated."

- An increase of **Price per Minute**, **SMS Price** or **Recurring Fee** on a purchased number takes effect after 30 days. You'll see "Price increase changes will become effective in 30 days." and the number shows a **Price change** badge with the date.
- The buyer of a purchased number is emailed about every price change.
- Price decreases, **Setup Fee** changes, other edits, and changes to numbers that aren't purchased, apply straight away.
- You can't change the number or the status of a purchased DID.
- The actions menu of an idle number also offers **Delete DID**. It asks you to confirm but leaves the number in your list; to take a number off the market, edit it and set **Status** to **Blocked**.

!!! warning
When a save on a purchased number includes a deferred price increase, the **Notes for Buyers** and **Local Requirements** from that same save are not kept. Change them in a separate save.

## How do I update numbers in bulk?

1. On **DIDs → My DIDs**, click **Export all** to download your numbers as a CSV.
2. Edit the rows in a spreadsheet. Keep the header row and the columns: Number, Anonymous, Country, Description, Price, SMS Price, Interval, Recurring Fee, Billing Cycle, Setup Fee, Documents Verification Required, Documents Verified, Status, Type, Billed To, Voice, SMS, Fax, Video, Capacity, Notes, Local Requirements.
3. Choose the file under **Upload CSV File** and click **Search DIDs**.

Each row updates the matching number you have already listed: prices, fees, features, notes, status (**idle** or **blocked**; leave a purchased number's status as **purchased**) and document verification. Use the upload to update existing numbers; add new numbers one at a time with **Sell New DID**. If any row is invalid, nothing is saved and your browser downloads `did_upload_errors.csv` with an **Error** column, for example "Periodic Interval should be one of Monthly, Quarterly or Annual", "DID Type can be only one of: unknown, national, mobile or tollfree", "Local Requirements can only be 'Any' or 'Local Only'" or "you can not change status of purchased DID".

## Where do I see purchases and cancellations?

**DIDs → Subscription Logs** opens the **DID Logs** page. Filter by **Number** or **Buyer** and click **Search**. The **Activity Log** shows each number, the buyer, the **Action** and **When**, 50 per page. The action reads `subscribe` when a buyer purchased the number, `manual_unsubscribe` when the buyer cancelled it, and `balance_unsubscribe` when TelecomsXchange released it because the buyer's balance didn't cover the renewal.

You're emailed when a buyer purchases a number ("TCXC DID purchase Notification") and when a buyer cancels one ("Number Cancelation Alert ([number])"). A release for low balance emails the buyer only. A cancelled number becomes **Idle** straight away.

## How does document verification (KYC) work?

1. When you list the number, tick **Documents Verification Required**.
2. When a buyer purchases it, you both get an email saying the number works only after you verify the buyer's documents.
3. Collect and check the buyer's documents, for example through Messages.
4. In **My DIDs**, click **Edit DID** for the number, tick **Documents Verified** and click **Save Changes**.

The buyer receives a "TCXC DID documents verified notification" email and the number starts working. **Documents Verified** then shows ticked and greyed out, but any later **Save Changes** on that number clears it again. After every later edit of a verified number, tick **Documents Verified** once more and save.

!!! warning
If the same save also raises a price on the purchased number, the whole change waits 30 days and the verification is not saved. Tick **Documents Verified** in a save of its own.

You can't turn on **Documents Verification Required** for a number that is already purchased.

## What if something goes wrong?

| You see | What to do |
|---|---|
| DID number should contain only digits | Remove `+`, spaces and dashes from **Phone Number (E.164)**. |
| DID number should be of length 4..15 digits | Enter the full number with country code, 4 to 15 digits. |
| This DID number already exists in the system | The number is already listed with that publicity. Find it in **My DIDs** and edit it instead. |
| Price should be numeric / SMS Price should be numeric | Enter plain numbers, for example `0.01`, with no currency symbol. |

| Voice SMS Fax or Video access should be enabled | Tick at least one feature under **Features Supported**. |
| Only idle or blocked status allowed | Choose **Idle** or **Blocked** under **Status**. |
| Not enough balance to pay for DID anonymous fee [amount] | Your balance must cover one month's anonymous fee. Choose **Public**, or wait until your balance covers it. |
| DID has not been added. DB ERROR. Please check all fields below. | A field holds a value the system can't store. Check every field and publish again. |
| You can not change number of purchased DID | The number is sold. Wait until the buyer cancels it. |
| You can not verify documents for DIDs which do not have it enabled, enable verification first | Tick **Documents Verification Required** first. This is only possible before the number is purchased. |
| DID not found. | The number isn't in your list any more. Go back to **My DIDs**. |
| Wrong Remote IP format | Enter a single IPv4 or IPv6 address, for example `203.0.113.10`, or leave it blank for any IP. |
| VoIP password can not be empty if VoIP login set | Enter a **VoIP Password**, or clear **VoIP Login**. |
| SMPP DID Login connot be empty | Fill in both the **SMPP Login** and the **SMPP Password** on the DID SMPP Authentication page. |

## Frequently asked questions

**Q: Which billing cycles are supported?**

A: Monthly, Quarterly and Annual. The buyer is charged the Recurring Fee once per cycle, and the fee is added to your balance.

**Q: How does document verification (KYC) work?**

A: Tick Documents Verification Required when you list the number. After a buyer purchases it, check their documents, then edit the DID and tick Documents Verified. The buyer is emailed that the number now works.

**Q: What happens when I raise the price of a sold DID?**

A: An increase of Price per Minute, SMS Price or Recurring Fee on a purchased DID takes effect after 30 days. The buyer is emailed about the change. Decreases, setup fee changes and other edits apply straight away.

**Q: Can I change the status of a purchased DID?**

A: No. A purchased DID's status and number can't be changed. It becomes Idle again when the buyer cancels it.

**Q: How do I know when a number is sold or cancelled?**

A: You get an email when a buyer purchases a number (TCXC DID purchase Notification) and when a buyer cancels one (Number Cancelation Alert). A number dropped because the buyer's balance ran out shows in DIDs → Subscription Logs as balance_unsubscribe, with no email to you.

**Q: Can I update many numbers at once?**

A: Yes. Export all from My DIDs, edit the rows in a spreadsheet, and upload the file with Upload CSV File. The upload updates numbers you have already listed; add new numbers with Sell New DID.
