# Getting started as a buyer on TelecomsXchange

> On the login page, use the Buyer Login panel: enter your Username and Password and click Sign In as Buyer. The Dashboard shows your balance, live calls and API keys, and the left sidebar takes you to every buyer tool.

## From login page to dashboard

1. **Buyer Login**: Username and password; one try per 10 seconds
2. **SMS verification** (via if two-step is on): 4-digit code; browser remembered for 7 days
3. **Dashboard** (via Verify): Balance, live calls and API keys
4. **Sidebar** (via every buyer tool): Accounts, Market View, Logs, Routing, Settings

TelecomsXchange (TCXC) is a wholesale telecom marketplace. Sellers list voice, SMS and phone-number routes; buyers like you pick the routes that fit their traffic and pay only for what they use. Start here: sign in, secure your login and learn where everything is.

## How do I sign in as a buyer?

The portal's login page shows two panels side by side: **Buyer Login** ("Access your buyer dashboard and manage routes") and **Seller Login**.

1. In the **Buyer Login** panel, enter your **Username** and **Password**.
2. Click **Sign In as Buyer**.

![The Buyer Account login page with the Buyer Login and Password fields](https://help.telecomsxchange.com/assets/screenshots/buyer-login.jpg)

You'll land on the **Dashboard**. If two-step verification is on, you'll see the **SMS verification** step first.

No account yet? Click **Create a Buyer Account →** to sign up on the TelecomsXchange website. If you open the buyer-only login page instead (**Buyer Login** and **Password** fields), **Login as Seller** under "Looking for a different account type?" takes you to the seller login.

Team members you've invited as web users sign in on the same form with their own username and password. See [invite your team](https://help.telecomsxchange.com/buyers/web-users-and-access-logs/).

!!! tip
Give each team member their own login under **Settings → Web Users** (only the main user sees this menu), so nobody shares the main password.

## How do I protect my login with SMS verification?

1. Go to **Settings → Profile & Preferences**.
2. Tick **Enable Two-Step Verification** and click **Update Preferences**.

The next time you sign in, an **SMS verification** step follows your password:

1. Wait for the SMS "Your TCXC code is:NNNN" with a 4-digit code. It goes to the SMS phone number on file. If there is no number on file, enter your number in international format (for example `+18001234567`) and click **SEND SMS**; that number is saved to your profile.
2. Type the code into **Enter OTP**.
3. Click **Verify**.

Your browser is remembered for 7 days, so you aren't asked for a code on every visit. More than 4 wrong codes block your web login. Email support@telecomsxchange.com to unblock it.

## How long does my session last?

**Login Timeout (minutes)** in **Settings → Profile & Preferences** is an idle timer: if you don't open a page for that many minutes, the portal logs you out and shows the login page again. Set it to `0` to stay signed in until you click **Logout**. Web users share the main account's timeout.

## How do I reset a forgotten password?

You need an SMS phone number on your profile for this. Web users can reset their own password the same way.

1. On the login page, click **Forgot your password?** in the Buyer Login panel.
2. Enter your **Email or Login** and click **Continue to Next Step**.
3. Enter your registered **Phone Number** and click **Send Verification Code**.
4. Type the 4-character code from the SMS ("TCXC verification code is:…") into **Verification Code** and click **Verify & Reset Password**. You'll see "Recovery email has been sent".
5. Open the **TCXC PASSWORD RECOVERY** email and click the link in it.

You'll see **Password Reset Complete** with **Your Login** and **Your New Password** (8 random characters). Save the password, then click **Go to Login Page**. You can recover a password once every 24 hours. **← Back to Login** on any recovery step returns you to the login page.

## What if something goes wrong?

## What's on the dashboard?

![Buyer dashboard with Account Summary, Live Calls and API Keys](https://help.telecomsxchange.com/assets/screenshots/buyer-dashboard.jpg)

- **Live Calls**: how many calls are up right now. **View Details** opens the live call list.
- **API Keys**: your **API Login** and **API Key** (hidden until you click the eye icon), and **View API Documentation**. If you see "API access is currently disabled", turn on **Allow API Access** in your preferences. See [Use the API](https://help.telecomsxchange.com/buyers/api/).

The top bar holds your **messages** (envelope, with an unread count up to **99+**), your **balance** (click it for Payment History), the **+** button ("Add funds") and your avatar with your login and the label **Buyer** (click it for preferences).

## How do I switch between light and dark mode?

- In light mode, click the **moon** icon in the top bar.
- In dark mode, click the **sun** icon.

![The light/dark mode switcher in the top bar](https://help.telecomsxchange.com/assets/screenshots/theme-switcher.jpg)

Your browser remembers the choice, so every page, including the login page, opens in that theme. Until you choose, the portal follows your device's setting.

## What should I do next?

Follow the guides in order: [create your first account](https://help.telecomsxchange.com/buyers/create-your-first-account/), [add funds](https://help.telecomsxchange.com/buyers/add-funds/), then [find and buy a route in Market View](https://help.telecomsxchange.com/buyers/find-and-buy-routes/).
