# Buy and manage eSIMs

> Go to eSIMs → Market View, search by country, region or Global, click Purchase on a package, choose the account to pay from and click Confirm Purchase. The eSIM is issued at once with a QR code and LPA code to install it. My eSIMs shows the data and days left and lets you top up.

## How an eSIM gets onto a device

1. **eSIM Market View**: Country, region and global data packages
2. **Your balance** (via Purchase): Pays the price shown; no card checkout
3. **Seller (eSIM provider)** (via Confirm Purchase): Checks stock live and issues the eSIM
4. **Your eSIM** (via issued at once): QR code, LPA code and ICCID
5. **Device** (via QR or Quick Install): Uses the data; top up from My eSIMs

eSIM providers selling on TelecomsXchange, such as Airalo and eSimplified, list their prepaid data packages for single countries, regions and the whole world in the eSIM marketplace. You buy a package from your prepaid balance and get an eSIM to install straight away, for your own team's travel or to resell to your customers.

The **eSIMs** menu appears when the marketplace is switched on for the platform.

## Before you start

- [Add funds](https://help.telecomsxchange.com/buyers/add-funds/) to the account you'll pay from. Packages are paid from the balance at the price shown; there is no card checkout.
- Have the device the eSIM is for to hand. It must support eSIM, and an iPhone needs iOS 17.4 or later for one-tap install.

## How do I find a package?

1. Go to **eSIMs → Market View**.
2. Under **Search Packages**, choose the **Search Type**: **Country**, **Region** or **Global**.
3. Enter the **Country** or **Region** name; suggestions appear as you type. For **Global** there's nothing to enter.
4. Narrow the results if you like with **Vendor**, **Data Amount**, **Validity Period** and **Max Price (USD)**.
5. Click **Search eSIMs**.

![eSIM Market View with a country search for Japan and the matching packages, each with its vendor, data, validity, networks, countries and price](https://help.telecomsxchange.com/assets/screenshots/buyer-esim-market.jpg)

Each result shows the package name, the **Vendor**, **Data** in GB, **Validity** in days, the **Networks** it uses (**All** means any network in the country), the **Countries** it covers and the **Price** in USD. A country search also lists regional packages that cover that country. Results are sorted with exact matches for the country first, then by price. Switch between **List**, **Grid** and **Cover Flow** with the buttons above the results.

!!! tip
Hover over a truncated **Countries** list to see every country a regional package covers.

## How do I buy an eSIM?

1. Click **Purchase** on the package. Stock and price are checked live with the seller.
2. **Step 1 of 3 - Package Details** shows the data, days valid, network, countries and **Total Price**. Click **Continue to Payment**.
3. **Step 2 of 3 - Payment Details** shows the account you're paying from under **Using**; click **Change** to pick another. Check **Current Balance**, **Purchase Amount** and **Remaining Balance**, then click **Confirm Purchase**.
4. **Purchase Successful** shows your **Order #**, the last four digits of the **ICCID**, the QR code and the LPA code.

The price is charged to the account at once. If the account uses another account's balance, that balance is charged. The charge appears in [Payment History](https://help.telecomsxchange.com/buyers/add-funds/) with the note "Esim order", the order number and the last four digits of the ICCID.

Keep the eSIM details before you close the window:

- **Download QR** saves the QR code as `esim_qr_code.png`.
- **Copy LPA** copies the activation code to paste on the device.
- **Email eSIM** sends an "ESIM purchase" email with the package details, the LPA code and the QR code attached to your account's email address.

You can also open the QR code again later from **My eSIMs**.

## How do I install the eSIM?

- **iPhone (iOS 17.4 or later):** tap **Quick Install** on the phone itself; the eSIM is added without scanning.
- **Any phone:** open **Settings → Cellular** or **Mobile Data**, tap **Add Cellular Plan** or **Add eSIM**, scan the QR code with the phone's camera or enter the LPA code manually, and follow the on-screen steps.

The eSIM is ready to use once installed. Data and validity count down as the seller defines; see the package's **Days Valid** in Step 1.

## How do I check my eSIMs and the data left?

Go to **eSIMs → My eSIMs**. Each eSIM shows:

- its status badge, such as **ENABLED**, **INSTALLED**, **RELEASED** or **DISABLED**;
- the last four digits of the **ICCID**;
- **Data Remaining** in GB and **Days Left**;
- **Network**, **Countries** and the **Purchased** date.

Status and usage are fetched live from the seller when the page loads, so it can take a few seconds. Search by the full **ICCID** to find one eSIM.

The buttons on each eSIM:

- **QR** shows the QR code again.
- **Install** opens the **Quick Install** link for iPhones.
- **Details** shows the **Status**, **Status Message**, **Last Operation Date**, **Assigned Account**, **Countries** and the activation QR code.
- **Top Up** adds data; see below.

## How do I top up an eSIM?

1. In **My eSIMs**, click **Top Up** on the eSIM.
2. **Step 1 of 3 - Select TopUp package** lists the packages the seller offers for that eSIM with their prices. Choose one and click **Next Step**.
3. **Step 2 of 3 - Payment Details**: choose the account under **Using** and click **Confirm Purchase**.
4. **Purchase Successful** shows the **Order #**.

The top-up applies to the installed eSIM; there's no new QR code. The charge appears in Payment History with the note "Esim Top-Up order" and the package name.

## Where do I see my orders?

**eSIMs → Order History** lists every purchase and top-up with **Order Date**, **Package**, **Country**, **Account**, **Type** (**purchase** or **top-up**), **Amount** and **Status**. It opens on the last 24 hours; set **Date From** and **Date To** and click **Search Orders** for an earlier period.

## Can I buy eSIMs from my own system?

Yes. The API has `/buyers/esim/market` to search, `/buyers/esim/purchase` to buy, `/buyers/esim/list` for your eSIMs, `/buyers/esim/topup/list` and `/buyers/esim/topup/purchase` for top-ups, and `/buyers/esim/orders`. See [Use the API](https://help.telecomsxchange.com/buyers/api/).

## What if something goes wrong?

| You see | What to do |
|---|---|
| Country/Region is required | Enter a country or region name, or choose **Global**. |
| No Packages Found | Widen the filters, or try the region the country is in. |
| Package Unavailable, or "Package is not available anymore, please repeat your search" | The seller has no stock or has changed the package. Search again for the current list. |
| Insufficient available funds | The account's balance plus credit limit doesn't cover the price. [Add funds](https://help.telecomsxchange.com/buyers/add-funds/) or choose another account. |
| Purchase Failed: "Package purchase has failed due to unexpected error" | The provider didn't issue the eSIM. You aren't charged; try again or pick another package. |
| TopUp packages are not available for this eSIM | The seller offers no top-ups for that package. Buy a new package instead. |
| API Error, please try again later | The seller didn't answer. Wait a minute and try again. |
| Email sending failed | Use **Download QR** or **Copy LPA** instead, or open the QR code from **My eSIMs**. |

## Frequently asked questions

**Q: How do I pay for an eSIM?**

A: From the balance of the account you choose at checkout, at the price shown. The account's balance plus credit limit must cover it. There is no card checkout for eSIM purchases.

**Q: When do I get the eSIM?**

A: Immediately. The QR code and LPA code appear as soon as the purchase is confirmed, and you can open them again any time from My eSIMs.

**Q: Can I cancel or refund an eSIM?**

A: No. eSIM purchases and top-ups are final and can't be cancelled in the portal. Check the countries, data and validity in Step 1 before you confirm.

**Q: Does a top-up give me a new QR code?**

A: No. A top-up adds data to the eSIM you already installed, so there's nothing new to scan.

**Q: Why does My eSIMs show -- for data remaining?**

A: Usage is fetched live from the seller every time the page loads. If the provider doesn't answer in time, the card shows -- until you reload.
